| Thallus grey. Ascomata 0.3–0.4 mm diam., 0.4–0.6 mm tall. Ascomatal wall to 300 μm thick; ostiole whitish, 100–200 μm diam. Ascospores reddish brown (K+ aeruginose), strongly bicolorous, with a dark median area and pale ends, ellipsoidal, with rounded ends, 10–12 × 5–7 μm; septum a distoseptum, c. 2 μm thick. CHEMISTRY:Thallus UV+ yellow; lichexanthone detected with TLC; the ascospores probably contain an anthraquinone (K+ aeruginose). |
